My best friend and I went to WDW in November to celebrate our 40th birthdays. We have been friends since we were 3 and don't have as much time to hang out as we used to so we MADE time and headed to Wilderness Lodge with the deluxe dining plan. My bff has a shellfish allergy, and gluten intolerance and felt confident dining at Disney because I assured her the great reputation they have catering to food allergies is well deserved, and wow did they impress her. Each meal they confirmed her allergy at check in, the waitstaff confirmed again, and each time they offered to have the chef come out if that would make her feel more comfortable (though the allergy menus were descriptive and clear enough that she never felt she needed to).
I was going to make it just one post but boy I sure get wordy when talking about Disney . Gives me a reason to spend more time reminiscing about the trip too, had such a fun time!!
Who -
Me - Disney obsessed mom of 5, housewife, Tink's Agent
Lin - Fur mom to 2 dogs, HR person <- that does not seem like the right term, went to Disney as a kid and on her honeymoon but hadn't been since
What - 3 days of park hopping and the DxDDP
Where - Wilderness Lodge with a Nature View
When - November - Post Thanksgiving. We wanted to get to see all the Christmas decorations.
Why -
We wanted to look forward to turning 40, since we have some friends who were not lucky enough to make it that far we know each day is a gift. The trip wasn't about celebrating the fact that her breast cancer treatment worked - but it definitely gave me more reasons to be thankful to get to celebrate our friendship.
Our itinerary
Day 1 -
Arrival, Whispering Canyon Lunch and Boathouse Dinner
Day 2 - EPCOT / Magic Kingdom
Rose and Crown Lunch
The Wave Dinner
Day 3 - Magic Kingdom / Animal Kingdom
Skipper Canteen Lunch
Tiffins Dinner
Day 4 - DHS / EPCOT
Le Cellier
Citrico
Day 5 - Time to head home
